Toyota launches ProAce with telematics

The French-built midsize LCV from Japan’s number one is ready for its market launch. Buyers can choose between two wheelbase lengths and two Euro 6 diesel engines, a 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre. Both are PSA units and use stop-start technology for better environmental performance. Interestingly, Toyota introduces an integrated telematics solution for fleet operators, called ProBusiness Telematics.

The latter is inspired by what Peugeot and Citroën offer on their respective LCV models, which roll off the same assembly line as the ProAce. Supplier of the hardware and the data platform is Kuantic. The service is an optional extra that comes with a monthly subscription fee for the data transmission. France is the first country in which the telematics solution is rolled oud, with the rest of Europe following in 2017.
